Choose How You Store Your Database
Visual Retail Plus runs on the desktop and on the web, with a license for every computer it’s installed on. Your database can live on a local server, in the cloud, or a hybrid of both, and RpDaily backs it up automatically.
One License for Every Computer
Visual Retail Plus runs on the desktop and on the web, and both work from the same database, users and security. Every computer the software is installed on needs a license, whether it runs the desktop POS or the Web POS.
Desktop POS
Installed on each computer in your store that runs the point of sale. Sales, inventory, customers and reports all run locally, with your database hosted in the cloud or backed up to it.
Web POS
Works hand in hand with the desktop, using the same users, passwords and security rights. Staff take every tender the desktop takes and can start a sale on a phone and finish it on a desktop.
Included With Visual Retail Plus
- One free conversion of your current products and customers
- The Communication module for multi-location stores, at no cost
- Pre-paid training and support hours that never expire
Whether a store runs the desktop, the Web POS or both, every computer is licensed the same way. Talk with a specialist to count what you need.
Local, Cloud or Both
Each option runs the same Visual Retail Plus suite. The choice comes down to the infrastructure you have, how much control you want, and how much room you need to grow.
Local Server
Your database sits on a server in your store. There is no monthly hosting fee, you control your own backups, and your files stay within reach without an internet connection.
Cloud Server
Your database is hosted off-site, so storage grows without new hardware and your team can reach it from anywhere. A fire or flood at the store doesn’t take your data with it.
Hybrid
Keep a server in the store and run the cloud alongside it. You get the close proximity of a local server together with the flexibility and room to expand that the cloud gives you.
Whether you run an eCommerce business or a brick-and-mortar store, Visual Retail Plus has a setup that fits. Talk with a specialist to choose yours.
Backups That Run Themselves
RpDaily, a Windows service included with Visual Retail Plus, creates database backup files and keeps them on a rotating 7-day or 30-day cycle, saved to any local or network folder you choose.
External Drive
RpDaily writes database copies to an external drive connected to the computer, so a copy lives outside the computer’s own hard drive.
Synced Folder
RpDaily writes copies to a folder on the computer, and Dropbox or OneDrive, set to sync every file in it, carries them to their servers.
Cloud Backup Service
RpDaily writes a database copy on the computer, then a cloud backup service such as IDrive copies that file up to its own secure servers.
Everything Comes Back
We recommend a cloud copy as well as a local one, so your inventory data can be restored quickly if your POS hardware is damaged or replaced.
Sell From Any Device With the Web POS
The Web POS works hand in hand with your Visual Retail Plus desktop and, like the desktop, is installed on a licensed computer in your business. Start a sale on a phone on the floor and finish it on a desktop computer.
- The same users, passwords and security rights as the desktop
- Every tender the desktop takes, including mobile pay by QR code
- JustLook stock across every store, color and size
